Weekly Meeting:
Our regularly scheduled weekly meeting will be held Wednesday morning at Extraordinary
Ventures, Inc., 200 South Elliott Road, Chapel Hill from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Meeting Dues are $5.00 per week. Place your business
card and $1.00 in the Optional Drawing. One card will be selected and that person will receive the week's kitty.
For Express Check-In, please arrive with a $5.00, a $1.00, and a business card and we will check you in. We greatly
appreciate your bringing correct change. We cannot change large denomination bills ($10, $20, $50, etc.) and cannot accept
checks.

John is still at Duke Hospital recovering, however he will need more surgery. I invite you to join the "Get Well Card

Women's Roundtable - 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2008
The women's roundtable is a chance for employees of chamber members to discuss
common challenges. The meeting agenda includes introductions, success stories,
member presentations, book reports and hot topics. The Women's Roundtable meets
the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce,

High School Job Fair - 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2008
The
Foundation for a Sustainable Community is organizing a Job Fair for the three Chapel Hill-Carrboro High Schools: Carrboro,
Chapel Hill and East Chapel Hill. The event is sponsored by
Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC;
Wal-Mart, Hillsborough and New Hope
Commons; and
PTA Thrift Shop.
The goal of this event is to help high school students find employment. A recent survey of all local high school students
indicated that there are about 275 students interested in finding employment; most are interested in part-time employment,
while less than 25% are interested in full-time employment. Employers who are seeking new staff are encouraged to participate
in this event. Deadline for registering for the Job Fair is Friday, April 11.

3rd Annual Food Drive - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., April 25, 2008
The
Chapel Hill Leads Group and
A Southern Season will be hosting the 3rd Annual Food Drive benefiting the Food Bank of Eastern and Central North Carolina. The date is April 25, 2008 (Friday) the time is from 10:00am until 6:00pm. The place is A Southern Season @ University Mall. I will be passing around a sign-up sheet this Wednesday and encourage you to sign up for 1 hour in order to make this event a success. I want to thank Dave Stoner of
Enviro-fix for his efforts in arranging this event.

About the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a
nonprofit organization that provides food for people in need in 34
counties in central and eastern North Carolina. The Food Bank
serves a network of more 880 partners agencies offering soup
kitchens, food pantries, shelters, and programs for children and
adults. In fiscal 2005-2006, the Food Bank distributed more than
31.4 million pounds of food and non-food essentials to these
agencies. Sadly, hunger remains a serious problem in central and
eastern North Carolina. In these counties, more than 440,000
struggle each day to provide enough food for their families.

- From UNC Campus
Take Raleigh Road towards Raleigh and I-40. Becomes 54 East. Proceed approximately 1˝ miles. Turn right on Barbee Chapel Road (Citgo Gas Station on corner). Barbee Chapel is the next right turn following the Friday Center Drive. Proceed ˝ mile and turn right at white sign into the UNC FSRA. Clubhouse and Picnic Shelter event parking is available by taking the first two right turns into lots behind the picnic shelter and hard courts.
- From Points East (Raleigh & Durham)
From I-40 take exit 273 towards Chapel Hill. Proceed approximately two miles. Turn left on Barbee Chapel Road. Barbee Chapel is the first stoplight after the “Welcome to Chapel Hill” sign on right. There is a
CITGO Gas Station on the corner. Proceed ˝ mile and turn right at white sign into the UNC FSRA. Clubhouse and Picnic Shelter event parking is available by taking the first two right turns into lots behind the picnic shelter and hard courts.

There is a large lot behind the picnic shelters on the right hand side of the drive and another lot near the hard tennis courts on the right hand side of the drive. DO NOT park in the lot on the left side of the drive near the farm house. This lot is reserved for tennis players
