From the keyboard of Lee Schearer,

"Freedom"

There are numerous definitions of this word, one being "a liberty taken". I for one would have an objection to that particular definition as it is a fact that liberty is a state of mind and being that has been earned. We as free citizens of this great land only have our liberties because of the actions taken by, not only our forefathers, but also by those who have defended our liberties, in both the past and current conflicts, against those in this world who would wish to limit our freedoms and destroy our way of life.

As we celebrate this 4th of July may we all take time to reflect on the price paid for the liberties and freedom that we enjoy in this great and wonderful country we call America.

Respectfully,

Lee Schearer
