From the keyboard of Lee Schearer,

Remembrance Day

In Canada this "day" which is celebrated each November 11th serves as a legal holiday in memory of those who died during World War I and II, similar to our Memorial Day. However, I too observe a "Remembrance Day" and one which falls on September 23rd. For it was on this date September 23, 1969 (40 years ago) that will always be special for me. It was on that date that I saw the coastline of South Viet Nam disappear from under the wing of the "freedom bird" taking over 250 Marines and a few Army soldiers of which I was one, back to "The World".

At the young age of 20 years, I am sure that I did not realize just how much that date would come to mean to me over the next 40 years, but I have always had a vivid memory of how I felt about surviving the Viet Nam experience and about how fortunate I was to have had that experience at such a young age. As many of you know, I often speak of that date with reverence for those who did not survive and with respect for those who did. I realized that I had a duty to be the best person that I could be and a responsibility of citizenship to this great and wonderful country. I also had an obligation to ensure that I would, in some small way, live up to the challenges that would enable me to help preserve "The American Dream", for my children and my fellow American citizens.

Little did I know that some 40 years later, I would have the privilege and honor of hosting such an organization as the Chapel Hill Leads Group, where I would find such a diverse gathering of men and women who, like me, work together in achieving not only business success but also in an effort to provide for those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Together, over the past 11 + years we have made a difference in the lives of so many. Together, we can achieve so much more. Now is the time, this is the place, we are the chosen ones.

I invite you to visit us this Wednesday morning and experience the attitude of success that has made the Chapel Hill Leads Group the most energetic and best referral group in the Triangle Region.

Respectfully,

Lee Schearer
