The Subconscious Mind In Business

Written by Robert R. Updegraff and passed along to me by my Father, this book, published in 1929, addressed the existence of a two-part brain activity that each of us brings into our business life. The conscious mind goes about our daily routine as a matter of necessity, that being the activity that pays the bills. The other part of the "business-brain", that being the subconscious mind, works in a very different way. The subconscious mind may be far more important to our "success" than we acknowledge. For it is our subconscious mind that fosters relationships through trust in our fellow colleagues and our business associates.

The mission of the Chapel Hill Leads Group is to provide a venue where entrepreneur's can gather for the purpose of building business relationships. It is a place where we can and do use both our conscious and our subconscious mind. It is a place where we meet in a relaxed atmosphere and get to really know each other so that we can both utilize the services of one another. It is a place where we are confident that when we refer each other, we do so with the knowledge and trust that the referral will be handled in such a manner that it reflects positively on our character as well.

I hope to see you this Wednesday morning with a smile on your face, a song of praise on your mind and a positive attitude towards life.

Weekly Meeting

EXPO OPPORTUNITIES - Each week arrangements have been made for you to show your products. Two (2) tables available for this "mini-expo". Do not miss the opportunity to display your wares so that your fellow Leads members can see what it is you sell!

Our regularly scheduled weekly meeting will be held Wednesday morning at Extraordinary Ventures, Inc., 200 South Elliott Road, Chapel Hill from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Meeting Dues are $5.00 per week.  Place your business card and $1.00 in the Optional Drawing. One card will be selected and that person will receive the week's kitty. For Express Check-In, please arrive with a $5.00, a $1.00, and a business card and we will check you in. We greatly appreciate your bringing correct change. We cannot change large denomination bills ($10, $20, $50, etc.) and cannot accept checks.

Retail Roundtable - 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, 20 July 2010

The purpose of the Retail Roundtable is to bring Chamber members together for an exchange of ideas about a shared interests in a non-competitive environment. Members share stories of challenges, successes and day-to-day best practices to assist in the success of every member. The Retail Roundtable meets the third Tuesday of each month at the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, 104 South Estes Drive, Chapel Hill, 27514. The Retail Roundtable is open to Chamber members. Economic Development and Public Policy Committee - 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, 21July 2010

The July Economic Development and Public Policy Committee meeting will be a joint meeting with the Durham Chamber's Economic Development Committee. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 21 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.220 Leigh Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. Attendees will have time to network and hear from three presenters about real estate projects and infrastructure improvements between Durham and Chapel Hill. Guest speakers include Mike Woodard, Durham-Chapel Hill Metropolitan Planning Organization Chair; Dave Harris, Synergy Commercial Advisors; and Harry Bowles, Capital Associates

This committee identifies issues and devises strategies that will create and sustain a thriving business community. Monitors and makes recommendations to local government on issues affecting Chamber members and their interests. The Chamber is also active with regional, state and national organizations and efforts, and helps leverage its resources to the benefit of members. Triangle Orthopaedic Associates Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration - 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Thursday, 22 July 2010

Join Chamber staff and Ambassadors for a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration for Triangle Orthopaedics' new office location in Chapel Hill. This new office will house Orthopaedics, Rehab Medicine, Physical and Occupational (Hand) Therapy, and an after hours Urgent Care facility. The celebration will be held at 4 p.m., with a ribbon cutting to take place at 4:15 p.m. Triangle Orthopaedics' new office is located at 100 Perkins Drive in Chapel Hill. From Chapel Hill - Take 86 North (Airport blvd). Make a right on Weaver Dairy and then a left on Perkins. Their new office will be on your immediate right.

Just a reminder that the breakfast club is still meeting at 7:00am at the Weathervane Restaurant.
