This Week's Speaker:

My website was hacked! What do I do?

Tim McCauley, President of Get Visual Business Solutions, has encountered this problem quite frequently over the past 18 months among his customers who host their own websites at Bluehost, HostGator, GoDaddy and others. He'll provide some insight into what's at the root of the problem and what business owners can do. Tim will also try and keep the geek speak at a minimum and inform in a manner everyone can understand.

See you there.

More importantly, Bring plenty of Business Cards and be ready to network!

If you missed last Wednesday's meeting ...

Suzanne has her Bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Southern California and her graduate degree in biochemistry from UCLA.  She will ask the question, "What you would like your health to be 10, 20, 30 years from now?"  Learn simple changes you can make to avoid the diseases common to many Americans.  Think of people you know who would like to improve their health trajectory.

... You were indeed missed.

Bring plenty of Business Cards to this Wednesday's Meeting

Did You Know:

From: Lee Schearer,
To: My Fellow Chapel Hill Leads Group Members

"The fear of Public Speaking"

Throughout my 46 (+) years of self-employment I have had many occasions of having the opportunity to speak before the public. Studies have shown that most people actually fear speaking before an audience. This fact is seen even within business meetings such as a "Leads Group".  It is evident when we have to ask our members to sign-up to be on the speakers list.

So, here are a few methods that I have used to overcome the fear of speaking before the public and one's that may help you as well.

1.) Talk from the heart. You have already made the decision to be self-employed and hopefully, within a field or product-line in which you believe.

2.) Talk with enthusiasm! Your connection with an audience may result in ongoing sales, which equates with business success.

3.) Do not shown your nervousness. If your hands are shaking and you are holding a paper, the audience will focus on the shaking paper and not on your subject matter.

4.) Hold an exhibit relevant to your talk or a podium when speaking. Both serve to "ground" you and will keep the attention of your audience, especially on your exhibit.

5.) Finally, do not try to memorize your talk. I have witnessed many speakers "freeze-up" and believe me, it did not end well for either the speaker or the audience.

I invite you to join me this Wednesday morning and witness for yourself why the Chapel Hill Leads Group is the oldest business referral group in the Triangle Region. Remember to bring a smile on your face, a song on your mind and an attitude of gratitude for the opportunities of business success available within our great country.

Respectfully,

Lee Schearer

Attention CHLG Members - The Chapel Hill Leads Group's goal is to raise 100+ boxes of cereal a month. If everyone brought one box of cereal to two meetings this month, the Chapel Hill Leads Group would easily exceed the 100 boxes of cereal goal.
