"Mail Call" - Support of Troops (2011 Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Season)
"Mail Call" Goal is 25 Boxes! During the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, the Chapel Hill Leads Group will be collecting donations of food and non-food items to send to our troops overseas. Items for our troops may be brought to Extraordinary Ventures, Inc., 200 South Elliott Drive, Chapel Hill. Cash donations will be used to defer shipping costs. The following is a suggested list of acceptable Food and Personal Care items as well as some items to avoid.
Suggested Snack Items (Please, No Glass Containers)
- Hard candy, Candy Canes
- Cookies and Snack Bars, Crackers
- Sunflower Seeds, Trail Mix
- Gum, Twizzlers, Life Savers
- Pop Tarts, Popcorn, Chex Mix
- Beef Jerky, Slim Jims
- Coffee, Hot Cocoa Mix
- Tea Bags (individually wrapped)
- "On the Go" Powdered drink mix for bottles water

A Southern Season and Chapel Hill Leads Group Food Drive (11 November 2011 - 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
The Goal for the Food Drive is 8000 meals! The days are shorter, the leaves are beginning to turn, and the crisp bite of fall is in the air. For many North Carolina residents, a proper diet is a challenge. Donate a can of soup, a box of cereal, a dollar. Anything you can spare. Every donation will be multiplied by the Food Bank.
The Food Drive, benefiting the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, will take place this Friday, 11 November, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., at A Southern Season in the University Mall in Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill Leads Group volunteers and A Southern Season employees will staff the collection table all day to accept your donations of Food and Non-Food items as well as cash. Spread the word. Let people know about the food drive. Perhaps you might collect items at your business or around your neighborhood and bring them to A Southern Season at University Mall. The following is a suggested list of Food and Non-Food items being accepted by the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

- Canned Meals (Stews, Soups, Tuna, Ravioli, etc.).
Pop-top cans a plus!
- Canned Fruits and Vegetables.

In fiscal year 2009-2010, the Food Bank distributed more than 41.5 million pounds of food and non-food essentials through these agencies. Sadly, hunger remains a serious problem in central and eastern North Carolina. In these counties, more than 500,000 struggle each day to provide enough food for their families.

A Southern Season and Chapel Hill Leads Group Spring Food Drive (3 June 2011)
Thank You Chapel Hill! The Spring Food Drive benefiting the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina collected 188 pounds of food and $1,481.70 for an equivalent of 6,455 meals. The Spring Food Drive took place Friday, 3 June, at A Southern Season in the University Mall in Chapel Hill.

A Southern Season and Chapel Hill Leads Group Annual Food Drive (14 May 2010)
The Fifth Voice refers to the one harmony created by the four voices of the Barbershop Quartet join together in harmony. The unified sound becomes like a Fifth Voice.
Just as a group of singers can be more than each of them is alone, the Chapel Hill Community can be more- by helping those who can’t feed themselves.
The Fifth Annual Food Drive, benefiting the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina, will take place May 14th, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., at A Southern Season in the University Mall in Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill Leads Group volunteers and A Southern Season employees will be staffing the collection table all day to accept your donations of Food and Non-Food items. Thank you to everyone, who has volunteered to staff the table throughout the day. A few open slots are still available. If you cannot donate the time, a food / non-food item will gladly be accepted. Spread the word to your clients during this week. Let them know about the food drive. Perhaps you might collect items at your business and bring them to University Mall.

Chapel Hill Leads Group Supports US Troops in Iraq (January 6, 2010)
For the next several weeks the Chapel Hill Leads Group will be collecting donations of food and non-food items to send to our troops in Iraq. Items for our troops may be brought to Extraordinary Ventures, Inc., 200 South Elliott Drive, Chapel Hill. Cash donations will be used to defer shipping costs. The following is a suggested list of acceptable Food and Non-Food items.

- Dried fruit: mangos, blueberries, tropical medley, pineapple, papaya, nuts

No Chocolate! It melts at room temperature. Imagine what it will become in the desert!

The Second Annual Chapel Hill Leads Group
and A Southern Season Food Drive to benefit
the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina will be
held on Friday, 28 September from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.,
at A Southern Season in University Mall in Chapel Hill.
A Southern Season employees and Chapel
Hill Leads Group volunteers will be staffing the
collection table all day to accept your donations of
Food and Non-Food items. Thank you to everyone, who has
volunteered to staff the table throughout the day. A few open
slots are still available. If you cannot donate the time, a
food / non-food item will gladly be accepted. Spread the word

Last years food drive collected 570 pounds of food and $631.48. This is the equivalent of 3,164 meals. Here we see
